What we believe

The Holy Bible

  • Written by men, who were divinely inspired by God

  • It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction

  • It has God for its author and salvation for its end

God

  • There is one and only one living and true God

  • He is all powerful and all knowing

  • He has perfect knowledge of all things, past, present, and future, including the future decisions of His creation

  • He is an eternal triune God that reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

  • Each distinct persons but one God

Man

  • Man is the special creation of God, made in His own image

  • He created them male and female as the crowning work of his creation

  • We are special (sacred) and we hope each of you feel that way

  • That is demonstrated by the fact we are made in God’s image and that Christ died for us

  • In the beginning man was innocent of sin and was endowed by his Creator with freedom of choice

  • By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race

  • Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable man to fulfill the creative purpose of God

  • Therefore, every person of every race, gender, age and social position possesses full dignity and is worthy of respect and Christ’s love

Salvation

  • Salvation involved the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior

  • There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord

  • In its broadest sense salvation includes

    • Regeneration (new creation)

    • Justification (relationship with God) - with salvation we are now justified and we can have that relationship with God again

    • Sanctification (the growth in morals and spiritual maturity by the Holy Spirit in you)

Baptism

  • Baptism is the physical representation of the spiritual baptism of the Holy Spirit which occurred at your salvation

  • Thus salvation is a requirement for baptism

  • Baptism symbolically represents the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ

  • Baptism is the first act of obedience to the Lord
